Motivation is futile:
We all know the story of the turtle vs rabbit and who eventually wins the race. This analogy couldn't correlate to life so well. We usually get frustrated with not being where we want to be when we want to be there. There are days where motivation becomes futile when no matter how much we try to convince ourselves otherwise. It's important that we create a plan of action every day to attack our daily tasks. Something we can write down and visually see. For example, if there is a time in the day that is dedicated to watching film at one write it down to visually see. Versus telling your
self at 1pm I am going to watch film. There are a million things running through your mind at any given time of the day. Attack the day by being diligent in your work.
Diligent:
The definition of diligence according to Merian - Webster is working carefully with consistent effort. Being diligent in your work allows you to be accountable for your own actions. Diligence gives us the consistency that we need when motivation is no longer present. Diligence creates and everyday effort that will take you to where you desire. In Hebrews 10:11 it states that " we want each of you to show the same diligence to the very end, so that what you hope for may be fully realized. We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. Being diligent creates more than motivation can.
Love the work:
When you intimately love what you do you won't be concerned about what is elsewhere. Being diligent creates a tunnel vision type mentality for you to fall in love with your work. When you fall in love with the process of what you're doing where you're at no motivation will be needed. You create a mindset that focus on today and today only. For tomorrow will be here when it gets here and focus on the day at hand. Loving the work creates a sense of hard work that will always pay itself off. Continue to grind, continue to shine and know consistency wins the race.
